I’ve finally got access to the internet again so I’m back : ) For this nail design I used Models Own 24 Carat Gold for the base and then 2 coats of Models Own Gold Rush. I thought this would be a good opportunity to try out nail tape for the first time so I decided to try out a few different designs. I got this nail tape off eBay for £3.25 so was a little bit pricey for what it is but I wanted it quickly so ordering from Hong Kong wasn’t an option this time. How to use the nail tape was quite self-explanatory really, just stick the tape onto the nail and then cut the edges of the tape off so that they fit the nail. I put a thin coat of Gold Rush over the tape as I thought the black needed a bit of shimmer on it and finished with a topcoat of Models Own 3-in-1 Base Coat, Top Coat and Gloss. The nail tape was surprisingly easy to apply but I found that after a day the tape started peeling off and looked awful! I’ve done a bit of research and apparently its best to cut the tape about half an mm from the edge and to seal with about 2 coats of topcoat so hopefully when I do that next time the design will last a bit longer!

Gold Rush Vs. 24 Carat Gold
Just a quick post for today because I’ve been busy and I’ve had some Internet problems! I thought I would do a quick little review on Models Own Gold Rush Ready To Wear and 24 Carat Gold. Before Gold Rush was released I thought it would be really similar to 24 Carat Gold and so would be interesting to do a comparison of the two of them but after painting my nails I realised they were rather different.
As you can see from the photos, Gold Rush glistens a lot more than 24 Carat Gold and is almost like a glittery polish but the glitter is a lot finer and gives a really stunning effect. 24 Carat Gold seems to be more yellow than Gold Rush but for certain designs I would prefer 24 Carat Gold.
24 Carat Gold really goes well with Gold Rush and I think a design using both polishes on the same nails would be nice so I might give that a go tomorrow and post the results.

Tutti Frutti Pastels
For this design I used my new nail canes, which I got off eBay for £3.99. Nail canes are rods of silicone shapes that can be cut thinly and then be stuck onto nails. These can make nail designs easy to do but can look a bit childish. I used the following Models Own Nail Varnishes for this design: (from thumb to little finger) Fuzzy Peach, Jade Stone, Hot Pink, Lemon Meringue and Feeling Blue. Fuzzy Peach is one of the new colours I had for Christmas and I love it! I think Fuzzy Peach could be the next big thing for summer but either way I will be wearing it all of the time! This design is pretty self explanatory, I painted 2-3 coats of each shade on each nail, waited for them to dry then put a thin coat of Models Own 3-in-1 Base Coat, Top Coat and Gloss and put the fruity shapes on and sealed with a thick topcoat. I thought these shapes would catch on everything and not last long but it has been over a day now and they haven’t annoyed me at all!

...Pink Polka Dots...
Firstly, Happy New Year everyone! Sorry I haven’t had time to blog yet this year because I have been really busy in work but I’m going to try and do a post each day this week to make up for it!
I painted these nails at the start of last week, the night before we started decorating in the pub I work at and thankfully I took these photos straight away because after the first day of painting they where ruined, even with my attempt of wearing gloves! For these I used (from thumb to little finger) Models Own Raspberry Crush, Pastel Pink, Sophie’s Pink, Hot Pink and Pink Punch. Sophie’s Pink is still my favourite Models Own shade of pink and Raspberry Crush is a close second but this photo doesn’t do the colour justice. I used my white Models Own Nail Pen to do the polka dots. This design from start to finish took me less than half an hour and gives a cute design which anyone can do! As usual I finished my design off with Models Own 3-in-1 Base Coat, Top Coat and Gloss but I must admit I’m missing the Seche Vite dry fast topcoat that I lost but I’ve ordered a new one off eBay so that should arrive soon. I’m just finishing a Tutti Frutti design at the moment and so I will blog about that tomorrow!
