Coral and Turquoise Zig Zags

To create these I used Models Own Coral Reef for the base, Models Own Top Turquoise for the tips (using stencil stickers that I got off eBay) and Models Own 3-in-1 Base Coat, Top Coat and Gloss to finish.
This design was really easy to do; I love how the colours work together and they look great in the sun!

Bumble Bee Nails

I’ve been meaning to do this design for about two weeks now but haven’t had time so I’ve had plain yellow nails for about a week so had to start from scratch again tonight.
I used Barry M Yellow for the base, which needed 3-4 coats so unfortunately I needed to wait over an hour for the base coats to dry even with Seche Vite dry fast top coat. The yellow is the perfect bumblebee shade so it was worth the wait it in the end!  I then used my black and white Models Own Nail Pens to do the details and Seche Vite dry fast topcoat to finish.  Excluding the time doing the base coats this design only took me about 20 minutes so I am definitely getting much quicker.  Oh and the pattern on my index finger is meant to be honeycomb but it’s a little bit messy.  Overall I love these nails and will be doing a similar design to this a bit further into the summer I think!

I ♥ Lickle Ladybird Nails

Yesterday I did my colleague’s daughter’s nails…. her name is Jamie and she is 9.  I was a little bit nervous because she was the first person’s nails that I’ve done and I didn’t realise how small her nails were until I tried putting the base coat on!  After a bit of a shaky start I got used to the size of them and they turned out pretty good I think…and most importantly she loved them!
For these I used Models own Red Alert for the base, my Models Own black nail pen for all of the black bits (because her nails where too small for anything else), my Models Own white nail pen for the eyes and a coat of Seche Vite dry fast topcoat to finish.

May Blossom

For these I used Models Own Top Turquoise for the base, my white Models Own Nail Pen for the dots, Models Own Sophie’s Pink for the petals and Seche Vite dry fast topcoat to finish the design.
I used a thin nail brush that I got off eBay to do the petals and struggled a bit too keep the right consistency but that can only be noticed close up.  As a whole I love this design as its simple and I think the colours go really well together!

Lovely Little Ladybirds

I wanted to do a nail design using red to match an outfit I was planning on wearing, so was thinking of doing the strawberry nails that I did in a previous post but then I remembered this WAH Nails design that I didn’t have time to do before winter approached last year so I thought I would give it a go now seeing as the weather is a bit nicer!
Here is a quick tutorial on how I did these:
1.   Paint 1-2 Coats of Models Own Red Alert.
2. Using a black Models Own nail pen draw a line down the centre of the nail (don’t worry if it is a bit wonky).
3. Draw a curved line near the end of the nail using the same nail pen.
4. Using Models Own Black Magic paint the tip using the curved line as a guide.
5. Paint 6 black dots on.
6. Paint the eyes on using a white Models Own nail pen.
7. Finish with a coat of Seche Vite dry fast topcoat.
This is the method and products that I used to create these but obviously there are many different products/methods you could use instead.  I’m really pleased with the results and will definitely be incorporating these into a new design soon.

    Pink and Yellow Leopard Print

I decided to do a leopard print design this time because I haven’t done one for a while. For these I used Models Own Sophie’s Pink, Models Own Lemon Meringue, a Models Own Black Nail Pen and I finished with a coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.  I love these nails but next time I think I’m going to use Top Turquoise or Feeling Blue instead of Lemon Meringue.
